Janet Marie Cecile Shea

Mrs. Shea was born in Toronto, Ontario on August 22, 1932 and spent her early years in Toronto's old Danforth neighbourhood, attending St. Brigid's School and Parish. She then graduated nursing school at St. Michael's Hospital under the Sisters of St. Joseph where she met her spouse of 63 years Dr. John B. Shea.

She leaves five loving children Peter, Daniel, Gregory, Mary and Pauline, nineteen grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren.

She was an avid reader and bridge player. Janet loved music and singing in the choirs at Blessed Trinity and St. Edwards parishes. A woman of humble and quiet prayer, she was loved widely for her kindness and attentive hospitality to all those whom she encountered. Janet was an encouragement and living example of sanctity in ordinary life.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday November 6, 2024 at 10 am at St. Edward the Confessor Parish, 75 Churchill Avenue Toronto. Mass of Christian Burial will take place following visitation at 10:30 am. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, 8361 Yonge Street in Thornhill.
