It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Joana Soriano Raguingan, aged 42, on March 22, 2025. She passed away peacefully at Kensington Hospice after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Joana was born on October 23, 1982, in the Philippines to Rodelio and Leticia Soriano. She grew up in Isabela, where she attended Cagayan College and later pursued a career as a nanny.
Joana is survived by her daughter, Leian Faye; mother, Leticia; sister, Rhea; brother, Rodelio Jr.; and nieces, Jillian, Czarina, and Julianna. She was preceded in death by her father, Rodelio.
Joana was a light in the lives of all who knew her- kind-hearted, full of life, and endlessly compassionate. Though her time with us was heartbreakingly short, the impact she made will be felt forever. She approached life with strength, grace and a quiet resilience that inspired everyone around her.
Joana had a special gift for making people feel seen, heard and loved. Whether it was through her most profound love for her family, her passion for cooking, decorating, singing Karaoke, style, and fashion, or simply a warm smile, she left the world better than she found it.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the memories we shared and the love that continues to surround us.
A funeral service will be held at Kane-Jarrett Funeral Home, located at 6191 Yonge Street, on Monday, March 31st, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to help with funeral expenses.
Gone to soon, but never forgotten. Rest in peace Joana.
You will always be our bright light.
