John William Bustin

It is with immense sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of John in hospital on Wednesday, May 29, 2013. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Betty and their infant son, David. John was born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia on November 1, 1928, and was one of two sons of Vera and Charles Bustin of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. He is survived by his children, Kathi and her husband Lorne Levy, Geoff and his wife Kathryn; his grandchildren, Michelle and her husband Michael Jasny, Jamie and his wife Ellen Levy, Jennifer and her husband Shane Aube, and Nicole Levy. He will be greatly missed by his great-grandchildren, Ethan, Nate, Joshua, Alexa and Charlie. Missing him also will be his brother Reigh, and sister-in-law Marion Bustin of Broad Cove, Nova Scotia; his sister-in-law Floss Lewis of Digby, Nova Scotia; and dear friends, Bud and Pauline Moxon and Bruce and Maureen Carmichael. John worked in the finance industry until his retirement, after which he and Betty spent many wonderful years together travelling, spending winters in Florida, and enjoying time with family and friends. A service of remembrance will be held on Monday morning at 10:30 am at the Jerrett "North York" Chapel, 6191 Yonge St. (south of Steeles, 416-223-6050). There will be no prior visitation.
