Julie always had a smile and a cheery word in spite of everything that she was experiencing. A quick dismissal of her "challenges" and sympathy for others was always her way.We will miss you, Julie Love Beth & Brian Gunn

These few words are the very least I can do, to express my appreciation for Julie's kindness and “other-wardness” over the years. I have especially admired how she always found ways, no matter what was going on in her life, to touch the lives of family, friends, and strangers alike in everything from her delightful and brilliant correspondence, to her warm, kind, and energetic presence as she volunteered herself and engaged with her heart. Julie, as I think of you reading this now, I want you to know that you will always be an inspiration to me and I already miss your unique humour and outlook, that was without pretense, and was full of realism, courage, and joy.

To my best friend of more than 40 years. There has never been a day gone by that you were not in my thoughts and prayers. You always thought of others first, I will miss your witt and humor. You are with the angels now. To Norah, Joan, Bruce and family my prayers and thoughts are with you at this sad time.

Love, Wilma

Perhaps the thing I will miss most about Julie (aside from her unconditional love and acceptance) is her positive attitude, even in the midst of her own tough times. She was always encouraging and only wanting everyone's best. As my big sister she helped me through the death of our parents with love, good memories, and properly placed humour. She wouldn't let you off the hook if you were acting out of character, but she'd do it with a smile and a twinkle of her eye. I'm sure right now in heaven she's making people smile with her unique blend of selfless love and care! Gonna miss you, Julie, but it calms my heart to know that heaven's got you. I look forward to catching up with you the next time we meet.

Julie, you were my sister and my best friend. We did so many things together, but the best thing was just hanging out with you no matter what we did. I looked up to you and wished I had the strength that you did to handle so much. I will miss you always.

We will sorely miss Julie. Her smile and outlook on things will be missed along with her request for the chair and the pleasure she got in watching Alec and the rest of the athletes swim.
