Linda Jean Cox

We are sad to report the peaceful passing of our big sister Linda at Mississauga Trillium Hospital.

Predeceased by her parents and younger sister Marjorie Hanas, she is survived by her siblings Ken (Deborah Gargrave), Don, and Mary, as well as her nieces, nephews, and their children. She will also be missed by many cousins, lifelong friends, and her church community.

Linda was born at Toronto General Hospital and lived most of her life in North York. She enjoyed a long career with the Crown Life Insurance Company, having been recruited straight out of high school, and held numerous roles with them until they closed down their Toronto operations. After that she mainly focused her time on volunteer work (Daily Bread Food Bank and others), church activities, and spending time at her cottage in the Haliburton Highlands. She enjoyed long walks, movies, music, and word puzzles.

Our family gives grateful thanks to the staff at Bough Beeches Retirement Residence for the loving, dignified care they provided Linda over the past 6 years.

A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home North York (6191 Yonge St., south of Steeles) on September 20th at 2 pm, visitation beginning at 1:30.

Cremation has taken place. If desired, in memoriam donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or Lansing United Church.
