

Mary Sue is survived by her sister Jane Hilton (John) and brothers Bill Nutson (Debbie) and Gar Knutson, nieces and nephews Shane (Katy) and Brett Hilton(Thea), Jon (Chantel) and Emily Nutson (Drew), Clare,(Nathan) Michael and William Knutson. (Katarzyna)
She attended St Joseph Morrow Park High School and obtained degrees from University of Toronto, (St Michael’s College) and York University.
Mary Sue was a dedicated teacher with the Toronto Catholic District School Board for over 30 years finishing her career teaching grade 8, at St Agnes elementary school in North York.
She cherished her nieces and nephews and her happiest times were hosting gatherings at the family home and buying Christmas presents for her great nieces and nephews Levi, Aurora, Lakelyn, Callan, James and Grant.
Mary Sue was always an avid reader of science fiction and mysteries. In retirement she became a passionate Blue Jays and Raptors fan and enjoyed tracking her teams through rebuilds all the way to championships.
For the last five years Mary Sue was comforted by her constant companion dog Lucy.
Mary Sue spent her last year living in a senior’s assisted Sunrise retirement home. She very much enjoyed the experience of community and the opportunity to make friends. Mary Sue was very grateful for the care she received at Sunrise and the North York Hospital and rehab centre.
Mary Sue’s family will receive family and friends at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home – North York Chapel 6191 Yonge St (south of Steeles) on Friday, May 16th - 4 to 8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 3220 Bayview Ave, North York on Saturday May 17th, 2 PM. A reception will follow at 4 pm at Sunrise Thornhill 484 Steeles Ave W. (entrance of Palm Gate Blvd)
