My deepest sympathy to the Smith family
I am totally shocked that Rob has left us, I have known Rob for 20+ years throughout the rec centers, Rob was a happy go lucky kinda guy he loved his sports and he joked alot with me. Rob was a great CRP who had passion in what he did . He will be missed by all that knew him there is one thing more to add he was one of the first to welcome me as a stewart at 79 meetings . R.I.P my friend

I hadn't seen Rob in a while but he was just an excellent guy, I'd known him a long time. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and his brother Alex who is also a good friend.

Dear Margaret and Family,

I am sorry for your loss. I worked along side with Rob at Cummer Park Fitness Centre and have fond memories of him.
He was a nice and funny man. He loved and respected you.

Rob was my cousin. We were born within a few weeks of each other although separated by the Atlantic. When we were kids we would send each other photos of racing cars. We only met on a handful of occasions and his sense of fun and compassion always shone very clearly. When my sister was going through a tough time health wise she was surprised and delighted that he called her. Latterly I really enjoyed chit chatting with Rob on social media and both of us sharing photos from various Smith family archives.

So sad and shocked when we heard the news that he had passed. Love and best wishes to Margaret, Will and Ian from the Smiths in Wales.

Graeme, Caroline, Catherine and Lara.

I am in total shock, Rob was taken too early. Such a compassionate, positive and genuine friend. I may not have known Rob long but I am ever grateful for the time he was part of my life.
My love goes out to his amazing wife and my friend Margaret and their sons William and Ian , Rupert and family.
May he still shed happiness and light to all from up above.
RIP Rob.

So upset and surprised to hear of Robert’s passing. Robert was a union brother, dear friend and strong Rec’er as we call ourselves.
We got to know each other in Rec centres and his deep dedication to others, his mad sense of humour endeared him to me. And among a mostly young Rec crowd, Robert and I shared being the old guys among the young. I will sure miss him. My condolences to Margaret and the family - I’m sure this is hard for her.
