

After a courageous battle with cancer, Roger Allen Gilliam at the age of 63 passed away on October 27th, 2023, surrounded by his family at Sunnybrook Hospital. Roger was born in Orillia, Ontario to Laverne Martin Gilliam and Agnes Caroline Patricia Gilliam (née Kennedy).
Roger's family remembers him fondly as a loving father and husband. His fun-loving character filled every room with warmth. His family admires his constant positivity and strength, which was displayed both through his battle with cancer and in his daily life. Roger was a man who was extremely patient and always supported his family and friends in their endeavors. He had a passion for sports and enjoyed watching the Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays games. Roger enjoyed playing golf and would take any opportunity to be on a golf course.
Roger is survived by his loving wife MaryAnn Gilliam (née Benedetto), his daughters Ashley and Brittany Gilliam and his fur babies Cooper and Chase. Beloved brother of Kathie Mills, Carolyn Thomas (Clint), Michael Gilliam (Andrea), Brenda Jamieson (Vince) and uncle to his many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his father Laverne Gilliam, mother Patricia Gilliam and sister Wendy Kirkwood (Paul).
Roger will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Visitation and Funeral will be held at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Homes at 6191 Yonge Street Toronto, ON M2M 4K4 on Saturday, November 4th, 2023. Visitation will take place from 9:30am -11:30am followed by the funeral service in the chapel at 11:30am. There will be a small reception following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities Toronto or the Odette Cancer Centre at Sunnybrook Hospital.
