Ronald Stephen Hummel

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Steve, (Ronald Stephen Hummel), on Sunday April 28, 2024, in his 76th year, after a short battle with cancer and pneumonia. Steve’s family was at his bedside at Mount Sinai Hospital during his peaceful final hours. Sadly missed by brother Garry and sister-in-law Ann, brother John and sister Susan Jackson. Predeceased by his beloved wife Glenda (Leitch) Hummel, sister-in-law Dodie (John) and brother-in-law Ross Jackson. He was known as “GUS” (Great Uncle Steve) to some of his nieces and nephews…to some others, he was “Uncle Beef”. Whatever the moniker, his love and presence in their lives will truly be missed.

Steve’s hallmark humour and generosity to family, friends and good causes great and small were a boon to his world.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 28th, starting at 1:00pm, at Eagles Nest Golf Club, 10000 Dufferin St., Maple L6A 1S3.

At 2:30, glasses will be raised and a few speeches given, to remember and celebrate, as one, the life of “Stashmo”.

Afterward, visiting, sharing stories and memories can continue for as long as we want (it is a celebration after all!)

Donations to Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation in Steve’s memory will be appreciated.
