Ruth Ivy Burnadette Alexander

Ruth Ivy Burnadette Alexander (nee Valley) in her 84th year went peacefully into the arms of her saviour on August 8, 2011 in Winnipeg Manitoba. Ruth was born in Cobalt, Ontario on August 17, 1927. She was predeceased by her parents Riley and Margaret Valley. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Nelson and Herbert and sisters, Ethel, Hilda, Maisie and Brenda. Ruth was the wife of Leslie William Alexander who passed away in 1995. Les was the love of her life and she missed him terribly. Ruth is survived by her son Richard Alexander (Heather) of Belleville, Ontario, daughter Margaret McKenzie (Ray) of Winnipeg, Manitoba and grandchildren William Alexander (Amy), Bethea Summers (Henry), Leslie Howard (Rich) and Raymond McKenzie (Alyssa). She also leaves behind three great-grandchildren, Ella, Logan, and William and her Grand dog Buddy. Ruth also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and many friends. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at the Jerrett Funeral Home "North York Chapel”, 6191 Yonge Street (south of Steeles Ave) on November 12, 2011 at 2:30 pm with a reception to follow. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice. Condolences to the family may be left at

Rick, Margaret, Heather, Ray & Families:

I am so sorry I am not going to be able to be in Toronto for the service. It was such a shock to hear of her stroke & passing. I will miss her. She's the last of the siblings to go and far too young at that! Who would have thought that the spring Toronto trip for Brenda's funeral would be last last time we would see you mom. I am thinking of all of you.
