On January 21, 2021, mom left us while sleeping peacefully at Hillsdale Estates Nursing Home in Oshawa, Ontario and after suffering an extended illness with Alzheimer. She was in her 92nd year.
Born in Montreal, Quebec Canada, the youngest of four daughters to Alexander and Emily Lillian (Lil) Anderson, mom witnessed incredible changes in her amazing lifetime. Having served as a Legal Assistant for many years before she met her loving husband Ejgil (Ike) Bonne Nielsen, who worked for the Arborite Company. Married in Montreal, they finally settled in Toronto in 1969.
She was the beloved mother of Eric (Frances), David (Rita) and Peter (Brent), proud grandmother of Christopher, Alexander, Lisa-Marie, Corey, Melissa and Cassandra and great grandmother of Johnathan, Lincoln, Sophia, Hunter and Penelope.
Predeceased by her devoted husband Ejgil (Ike), children Lloyd and Lorna, sisters Audrey, Neilya and Hazel.
Sheila lived a full life as a wonderful mother and homemaker who was fiercely devoted to her family.
She loved to bake, cook Mac and Cheese and an amazing Irish Stew, kept an immaculate house, was highly skilled and enjoyed her weekly outings to the local bowling alley to win as she would boast. A city girl at heart, gardening was also a passion.
Most of all she loved her family and instilled in her son’s strong values of faith, loyalty and perseverance that will serve us well.
She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
A small private family celebration of Sheila’s life will be held at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home, 6191 Yonge Street, Toronto, Ontario on Wednesday January 27, 2021 at 11am.
