I met Grandma Sophie once, but it was a memorable meeting. She struck me as full of energy and vitality, and as someone who wasn't afraid to be herself and speak her mind. Thinking of Rose and family, and sending love.

We remember Sophie as someone keenly interested in the world around her. A person who always had time to sit down and engage in discussion with me and those around her. She was an interested listener who sought out the opinions and stories of others.

Sophie was a great friend to me. I especially enjoyed my travels with her to New York and Rochester. We had great fun and much laughter.

Her visits to the West Coast - not only Vancouver, but also to Savary Island - were always appreciated.

We always looked forward to Sophie's visits to the West Coast - she will be deeply missed.
