In sadness, with love and nostalgia, she will be remembered by her loving son Bogdan Cristian and daughter-in-law Liliana, her cherished granddaughter Diana, her sister-in-law and great friend Eufimia (Mimi), and her devoted nephew Julian.
Valeria has gone to rest with her husband Ioan (Gioni), her parents Dumitru and Valeria Desmirean, and her sisters Margareta “Teta” (Ioan “Nelu”) and Elvira “Evi” (Mircea).
Valeria will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who was devoted to her family. Widowed early, she found a new family, love and friendship in her brother and sister-in-law, joining them in helping raise their granddaughter. Proudly strong, dignified, determined, she lend her support to her family’s transitioning into their new life in Canada. She will be remembered for her love of her home, of family gatherings, her enjoyment of reading, music, art and travel. We will cherish the memories of our family trips to Florida.
Valeria and her family wish to express their gratitude to the healers at North York General Hospital, Mount Sinai Hospital and Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital for their compassionate care.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 22, 2025, between 4 -8pm at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home – North York Chapel 6191 Yonge Street. There will be a brief Eastern Orthodox service in Romanian at 6PM.
A private Anglican funeral service will be held on Thursday January 23, 2025 at 10am, at St. John’s York Mills Anglican Church in North York.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you consider a donation in Valeria’s memory to either North York General Hospital or Sinai Health Foundations.
