Alvarina P. Galante, age 84, of Hilmar, California passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018. She was born June 13, 1934 in Ribeirinha, Terceira, Acores to Maria de Jesus Ferreira and Jose Luis Parreira.
Alvarina is survived by her husband of 59 years Antonio V. Galante, son Tony H. Galante, and sister Lacalette Rodrigues all of Hilmar. She also leaves behind many cousins, nephews, and nieces to honor her memory.
Mrs. Galante was preceded in death by her parents Maria de Jesus Ferreira and Jose Luis Parreira, six sisters, and three brothers.
She was a dedicated parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and a member of the Portuguese Fraternal Society of America (P.F.S.A.) in Hilmar, California.
A visitation for Mrs. Alvarina P. Galante will be held from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service: 286 W. Main Street, Turlock, California. There will be a recitation of the rosary at 7:00 PM later that night at Holy Rosary Catholic Church: 8471 Cypress Street, Hilmar, California.
A funeral service will occur at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 5, 2018 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church: 8471 Cypress Street, Hilmar, California. She will be laid to rest following the service at Turlock Memorial Park: 575 N. Soderquist Road, Turlock, California.
Serving as pallbearers are Willy Delgado, Marcus Lema, Joe Martin, Fernando Rodrigues, Antonio Vieira and Wagner Caetano.
