Alpha was born on January 8,1932 in Jonesville, Louisiana to Lonnie K. Poole and Ethel Taunton Poole.
Alpha enjoyed cooking and sewing and later in life she loved her puzzle books.
She is survived by children, Patricia Erwin and husband Rick, Kenny House, Cyndi Samford and husband Mark; grandchildren, Lisa Suitor and husband Heath, Jill Hudson and husband Brandon, Hayley House and husband Adam, Hannah House, Taylor Samford and wife SarahKate, and Morgan Priddy and husband Jacob; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Nelva Moss, James Poole and Paul W. Poole.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, O.C. House and Willard E. Blount; siblings, Burl Poole, Murriel Poole, May Poole, Retta Poole, Reginald Poole and Jerry Poole.
A visitation for Alpha will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Lloyd James Funeral Home, 1011 E 1st, Tyler, Texas 75701. Graveside services will be held, 10:30 AM, Wednesday, July 8, 2026, Bascom Cemetery, 12564 FM 848, Tyler, TX 75707.
