Barbara was raised in New London with her 7 siblings and later moved to Tyler to attend Tyler Nursing School. She married A.C. Smart in 1961 and the couple had 2 sons. Barbara enjoyed being a wife and mother. She loved to do volunteer work and taking care of her family. Barbara was very caring, loving and giving.
Survivors include her sons, Charles "Chuck" and Chris Smart; and one brother.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, A.C. Smart; and 6 siblings.
A visitation for Barbara will be held Friday, August 22, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Lloyd James Funeral Home, 1011 East First Street, Tyler, TX 757013308. A funeral service will occur Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Lloyd James Funeral Home. A gathering for family and friends will be held at 6706 Hollytree Circle Tyler, TX 75703, concluding the graveside service.
Barbara will be laid to rest in Rose Hill Cemetery.
