

She was born on May 19, 1950 in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana. As a teenager, Brenda moved from Louisiana to Texas where she lived for the rest of her life. She graduated from Friendswood High School in 1966. After moving to Nacogdoches, she met Dwayne and they married on July 15, 1972. Through the years, Brenda was a faithful follower of Jesus and attended Tyler Metro Church for the last 14 years. Her greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren, but she also enjoyed gardening, decorating, her pets, and cooking. As a fourth generation Cajun cook, Brenda often prepared family recipes, which were passed down from her great-grandmother to her grandmother to her mother and to her.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Betty Lee; sister, Susan Rodgers of Tyler; and brother, Michael Lee of Lufkin. She is survived by her husband of 53 years Dwayne; her sons, David Collins of Whitehouse, Bryan Baker and wife Tawnya of Lufkin, and Scott Baker and wife Tara of Tyler; her grandchildren, Kaylenn Baker of Lufkin, Sydney Baker of Tyler, Kylee Baker of Lufkin, and Ethan Baker of Tyler; great grandchild Hallie Mae Havard of Lufkin; and brother Gene Lee and wife Anet of Lufkin.
A memorial service for Brenda will be held Sunday, September 28, 2025 from 5:00 PM at Lloyd James Funeral Home, 1011 East First Street, Tyler, TX 757013308.
