Brenda was born November 7, 1963, in Salina, Kansas. She was the twin of Barbara Johnson, who passed away shortly after birth. She grew up with two sisters and one brother and attended Chapel Hill High School, Tyler, graduating in 1982. She went on to obtain her Associate’s Degree in Horticulture at Tyler Junior College in Tyler.
Brenda did not have children of her own, but loved her nieces and nephews dearly and spoiled them to death. She was always pleasant and caring toward people. Diabetes took its toll on Brenda’s health and she spent the last three years of her life in several nursing homes. At her final nursing home in Kerens, (in all unlikely of places) she enjoyed a life filled with love, true friendships and family. A special thank you to ALL the people at Kerens Care Center for the special care, support, friendship and love Brenda received during her stay.
Brenda’s child-like innocence was admired by all. She was a rare flower in this world. She will be dearly missed.
A memorial will be held at Kerens Care Center in Kerens, Texas on May 9th at 2:00 pm. Her funeral will be held in Ellsworth, Kansas on May 11th, graveside services only.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that any memorials be made to Keren’s Care Center http://kerenscare.com/contact.php to benefit the residents with continued fun projects and special care.
