
A memorial service for Camille J. Snow of Tyler will be held March 22, 2014, at the Glenwood Church of Christ at 10:30 A.M. with Jerry Frazier officiating. Graveside services will be at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Upshur County Texas at 2:30 P.M.
Camille was born July 5, 1912, in Coleman, Texas to parents, Ira E. and Margaret Martin Jay. She passed from this life on March 17, 2014 at the age of 101.
Camille graduated high school in 1929 at 17 and soon was hired as a secretary and bookkeeper for Airway Vacuum Company in Dallas, Texas. Sam Park Snow and Camille Jay met in 1940 and were married in October at the Oak Cliff Church of Christ in Dallas. Sam was the love of her life and they were together for 56 years until his death in 1997. Together they reared their four children from 1942 until their retirement in 1976. At that time they moved to the family farm in Pritchett, Texas. In 2001 Camille moved to Tyler to live with her daughter, Judy.
Camille worked from 1929 until the birth of her first child in 1942. She was a devoted, loving, wife and mother. In 1960 when the oldest child began college, she began working again as a secretary and bookkeeper. She continued working for the next 16 years enabling all of her children to go to college without incurring debt. She will be remembered for her faith and devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ, her love and devotion to family, her sweet spirit, her quiet strength, her gentle love and her tender kindness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother Clara Jay, her four brothers Vernon Walker Jay, Alvin Morris Jay, William Edward Jay, and Roy Edsel Jay and her son-in-law Dan Anders.
Camille is survived by her daughter Judith L. Anders of Tyler, TX; son Sam Park Snow II and wife Dianna of Lago Vista, TX; daughter Karen L. Helms and husband Carl of Lafayette,CO; daughter Faye D. Ingram of Tyler, TX; granddaughter Leigh Ann Anders and husband Dennis Adams of Las Vegas, NV; granddaughter Lara E. Reynolds of Tyler, TX; grandson Kenneth M. Snow and wife Rhonda of Houston, TX; granddaughter Kara M. Vesperman and husband George of Cedar Park, TX; grandson Nicholas D. Helms of Centennial, CO; granddaughter Amanda G. Helms of Longmont, CO; grandson Timothy A. Ingram of Carrollton, TX; and 5 great-grandchildren.
