Carl W. Mohl, sometimes affectionately referred to as “Fred” by his immediate family, was born on May 13, 1932, in Minneapolis, MN, and passed away peacefully on May 9, 2026, in Bullard, TX, surrounded by the love of his family. He lived a life defined by his service to his country, a strong work ethic, and many good memories with his family.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Carl, and Mathilda Mohl; his beloved wife of 63 years, Marie Mohl; and his sisters, Mary Ronning and Carol Neary.
He is survived by his two sons, Bill Mohl and his wife Marilyn, and Tom Mohl and his wife Sonia. He was a proud grandfather to Billy Mohl and Danny Mohl, and a great-grandfather to Hunter and Brock Mohl.
Carl proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War, an experience that remained a source of pride throughout his life. Following his military service, he devoted his entire professional career to the Bell Telephone family of companies, serving in a variety of positions with Northwestern Bell, Mountain Bell, and ultimately US West. His commitment and dedication earned the respect of colleagues and friends alike over many decades.
Outside of work, Carl found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. He was an avid fisherman who treasured time spent on the water with his sons and grandchildren, enjoyed traveling and had a lifelong love of history and reading. Whether sharing funny stories with family, traveling to different places, enjoying a good book, or casting a line, Carl appreciated the quiet moments that made life meaningful.
Often a man of few words, Carl will be remembered for his quick wit, humor, hard work, and the stories he shared with those around him. His legacy lives on through the generations of family who loved him dearly and will miss him greatly.
