Carol Fields Prevost

Services for Carol Fields Prevost, 95, of Tyler are scheduled for 1:00 P.M., Friday, May 23, 2014 at First Assembly of God Church with Reverend Dennis Newburn and Reverend Randall McDonald officiating under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home. Burial is in Tyler Memorial Cemetery.

Carol passed away on Monday, May 19, 2014 in Tyler at Hospice of East Texas. She was born on August 18, 1918, in Dallas to the late William Alphaeus and Mary Evalena Ratliff Price.

Carol was a seamstress for Sledge Manufacturing Company/Levi Strauss. She managed Bob’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream in the Broadway Square Mall and Stuckey’s Pecan Shoppe. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church for over 80 years where she sang in the choir and in the Ladies Trio. She was a wonderful disciple of Jesus. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister and friend.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Linda Vickery; daughter-in-law, Sharon Fields; grandchildren, Cheriea Hines and her husband, Bobby, Jeff Fields and his wife, Reon, Scott Fields, Robin Starnes and her husband, Rodney, Kim Gorbach and her husband, Michael, Dawn DuBois and her husband, Clay, and Kenny Vickery; sisters, Ruth Lough, Lois Davidson and Martha Shelton; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Neal Fields; grandson, Hollis Simmons; brothers, William Price and Timothy Price; sisters, Mary Caldwell, Evelyn Caldwell, Jo Anna Taylor, Rachel Preston and Esther Stephenson.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Fields, Scott Fields, Rodney Starnes, Colt Fields, Justin Fields and A. J. Johnson.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 22, 2014 from 6 to 8 P.M. at Lloyd James Funeral Home.
