A memorial mass for Catherine Delores Keenan, 93, Tyler will be held at 2:30 pm, Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with Father Brandon Bernhard officiating and under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.
Mrs. Keenan passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2011 in Tyler.
She was born on October 21, 1918 in Fairbanks, Pennsylvania to the late Jacob and Antonia Merda Ligas. In 1941 she graduated from nursing school as a registered nurse and then served overseas in the U. S. Army under General Patton in Italy and North Africa during WW II. Her rank was second lieutenant. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and had lived in Tyler since 1959.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Keenan and son Frances Keenan.
She is survived by her son Ray Keenan and wife Sharon of Kingwood; sister, Jeanette Baird of Cincinnati, Ohio; ten grandchildren ten great grandchildren.
