Born on December 18, 1956, Charlie lived a life defined by hard work, loyalty, and love for his family and friends.
Charlie was a dedicated crane operator who served in a variety of leadership roles. He took great pride in his work. Throughout his career, he helped build countless projects and loved sharing stories about the places he had worked and built whenever he drove past them.
He had a passion for classic cars, especially his beloved 1991 Ford Mustang Fox Body 5.0, which he meticulously maintained and proudly displayed at car shows. He also enjoyed working in his yard, tending to his roses, spending time at the beach, and listening to classic rock. Charlie never met a stranger. He loved visiting with neighbors, making friends wherever he went, and maintaining lifelong friendships. Some of those friendships lasted more than 50 years, and some even traveled long distances to spend time with him during his final days…a reflection of the lasting impact he had on those who knew him.
Above all else, Charlie loved his family. He was a devoted father and grandfather whose greatest pride came from those he loved.
Charlie was preceded in death by his father, Charles Curtis Henley; his mother, Lillian "Joan" Mayne; and his beloved brother, Michael "Micky" Wayne Henley.
He is survived by his son, Michael Wayne Henley of Jonesboro, GA; his daughter, Shanon Michelle Brown and son-in-law, Brad of Richmond, TX; his grandchildren, Jacey Michelle Hammack of Galveston, TX, and Clay Jason Rogers of Richmond, TX, bonus grandchildren Madyson, Caitlyn, and Kamryn Brown of Sweeny, TX¸; and his great-grandchildren, Maddie, Ky, Vialahni, and Azara. As well as his bonus granddaughter Baylie.
