

Charles Lawrence Keller, age 85, of Tyler, passed away in the late evening hours of Friday, September 7, 2012 at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler. He was born on November 26, 1926 in Dublin, Texas to Lawrence Rogers and Ruby Dabney Keller; they preceded him in death. Charles served in the United States Army as a Tech Sgt. during World War II. He earned a business degree at the University of Texas at Austin. Charles married the love of his life and best friend Joyce Ruth Keeney in Abilene, Texas on August 1, 1953 and have spent the last 59 years raising children and grandchildren and living a lifetime of memories. He worked for 37 years in Fire and Casualty Insurance starting with Floyd West and Company and eventually for Crum and Forster Insurance. Charles and Joyce have been members of the Shiloh Road Church of Christ for over 30 years and he was a proud member of the Prime Timers Social Club and the Shiloh Singers. Charles enjoyed music and dancing but truly loved his family and grandchildren. He loved entertaining children as a ventriloquist and performing magic tricks. His loving spirit and gentle heart will be missed by all who knew him.
Charles is survived by his wife Joyce; two daughters, Karen Keller Brown of Tyler and Nancy Keller Bean, and husband James, of Spring; one son, David Charles Keller, and wife Kim, of Whitehouse; one sister, Martha Keller Rix, and husband Cecil, of Houston; grandchildren, Jordan Wayne Brown, and wife Elayne Da Silva, James Tyler Bean, Daniel Patrick Bean, and wife Ashley Lauren, Justin David Keller, Sarah Elizabeth Bean, Ryan Charles Keller, and Kelly Megan Keller; and by a host of other relatives and very special friends.
Services for Charles Keller will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Lloyd James Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 – 8 P.M., Monday evening, at the funeral home.
