Claire Tibiletti

She grew up in a family of six in Victoria, Texas, where she attended her beloved Catholic Schools. She graduated in 1974 from Nazareth Academy before returning to Austin to attend the University of Texas where she graduated in 1982, from there, moving on to University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She finally settled in Tyler, Texas where she practiced pain management medicine for over forty years. She was one of the founding physicians of Texas Spine & Joint Hospital. She was also one of six physicians who founded the Spine Intervention Society (SIS) which has grown to well over 3,000 members in the succeeding years. She traveled extensively with SIS, training physicians world wide. She served as President, was on the Board of Directors, and represented the organization at the AMA House of Delegates. She was honored by SIS with the Derby Distinguished Service Award. While working full time in her Tyler practice she also earned a Masters in Public Health from Harvard University. Her multitude of professional accomplishments are exceeded only by her limitless kindness and generosity to all who knew her.

She is survived by her mother, Ann Tibiletti; her brother, Tom Tibiletti, brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Laurie Tibiletti, sister, Carrie Tibiletti; and half-brother, Matthew Tibiletti; in addition to nieces, Hannah Cromer (husband Jon), Claire Hunt (husband Barrett), Emma Childress (husband Matt), Olivia Whaley (husband Ryan), and Sophie Tibiletti Leasca (wife Catie); as well as great nieces and nephews, Charlie, Max, Rosie, George, Teddy, Luke, Annie, Parker, Jett, and Evan.

The enormous void left by the loss of her physical presence, while acutely evident to us right now, will settle into peaceful remembrance of the wonderful times spent with her during her life and our confidence that her faith and the selfless way she lived on earth ensures that we will all one day be reunited forever. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made in her honor to local Catholic schools.

A Rosary will be held for Claire at Lloyd James Funeral Home, 1011 E. 1st St, Tyler, Texas, Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 5:30 pm, followed by a time of visitation and reception beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Lloyd James Funeral Home.

A Funeral Mass will be held at The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with Father Hank Lanik officiating on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 10:00 am.
