Graveside services for Daniel Preston Wilson, Jr., 66, of Houston formerly of Tyler are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Meador Cemetery with Rev. Sherman Mayfield officiating under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.
Mr. Wilson passed away on Friday, June 17, 2011 in Houston.
He was born on October 25, 1944 in Tyler to the late Daniel Preston Wilson Sr. and Cleo B. Williams Wilson. He was a Baptist, graduated from Robert E. Lee High School where he played football and was all District Honorable Mention his Senior Year. He graduated from UT Arlington with a degree in civil engineering. He was employed by the Cotton Belt which later became the Union Pacific Railroad. He served in the U. S. Navy. He has lived in Victoria, San Antonio and then Houston for 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Barbara Smith.
He is survived by his son, Brian Preston Wilson; daughter Danielle Delane Wilson; brother, Ron Wilson of Tyler ; aunt, Naomi Cryer of Crockett; cousins, Jerry Cryer of Houston, Jimmy Cryer of Houston and Mary Hooper of Dallas.
