Donna Jean Metcalf, 78, of Tyler, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025. Born in Joplin, Missouri, on January 2, 1947, Donna lived a full and faith-filled life, rich in love, family, and laughter.
She was the cherished daughter of Calvin Hubie Tincher and Wilma Jean Tincher, both of whom preceded her in death. She is also reunited in Heaven with her brother, Frankie Joe Tincher.
At 19, Donna married the love of her life, Bobby Ray Metcalf. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with devotion, joy, and shared adventures. One of their greatest passions was traveling — from road trips to international adventures, they created countless cherished memories, even up until the very end.
She was a devoted mother and grandma and loved her children and grandchildren with every ounce of her being.
Donna retired after a 30-year career in banking, where she was known for her strong work ethic and her natural gift for connecting with people. A true conversationalist, she loved to talk, laugh, and brighten every room she entered.
Above all, Donna loved the Lord. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She enjoyed golf, singing, reading, volunteering, and baking — but nothing brought her more joy than being “Grandma.”
She is survived by her beloved husband, Bobby Metcalf; her daughter, Deborah Metcalf-Chadsey and husband, John (Shreveport, LA); her son, Michael Metcalf and wife, Amy (Guthrie, OK); her grandchildren, Cody Metcalf and wife, Cierra (OKC, OK), Emily Metcalf (Guthrie, OK), Abbygail Chadsey, and Charles Chadsey (Shreveport, LA); her brother, Jerry Wayne Tincher and wife, Debbie (White Oak, TX); and sister-in-laws, Norma Willis (Tyler,TX) and Bonnie Tincher (Whitehouse, TX).
Her legacy of warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. The family request that In lieu of flowers make donations to Hospice of East Texas: hospiceofeasttexas.org/giving/memory.
