David Crim, 90, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 26, 2021. He was a life-long resident of Tyler. Following his graduation from Tyler High School, he attended Tyler Junior College, Centenary College in Shreveport, and the School for Bank Administration at University of Wisconsin, Madison. He spent the majority of his professional career in the banking business, serving as Senior Vice President and Comptroller at Peoples National Bank, the Republic of Texas Corporation, and FDIC. Family meant everything to David. He was son to Kate Phillips and Earle Hastings Crim and then husband to his beloved Margaret Hix, whom he married in 1951. He was Dad to son Earle Crim and wife Suzanne, daughter Cathy Ramm and husband Terry, Grandpa to Brandon and Ashley Crim, Katie and Rick Baker, Stephen and Korie Crim, Jonathan and Shelly Ramm, and Julia and Greg Lewis, and G-pa to Coleman and Tucker Crim, Jackson and Preston Baker, Madeleine and Oren Ramm, Emery, Grace, and Reagan Crim. He will be remembered for his loving spirit, his stories, and his humble graciousness. He grew up at Marvin Methodist Church; but after his marriage to Margaret, he joined First Baptist Church. He served on several committees, taught children’s Sunday School, and was actively involved in the Christians in Action Sunday School. Two of David’s favorite hobbies were trains and firetrucks. As a child he enjoyed walking the railroad tracks and watching trains, which led to his becoming a model railroad enthusiast. He also loved firetrucks and the fire service. He spent countless hours researching fire history; and he, his son, grandsons, and friends spent lots of time at “the building” restoring firetrucks. He met so many friends in Tyler, Houston, Shreveport, Paris, and Dallas who shared his passion. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Prestige Estates family for their love, friendship, and care these last three years. Also we gratefully thank Dr. Brent Wadle and Dr. Julie Philley for their years of loving care. A time of visitation will be at Lloyd James Funeral Home, on Friday, April 30, 5-7 p.m. A graveside service will be on Saturday, May 1, at 1 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church, 301 W. Ferguson Street, Tyler, TX 75702. “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.”—Psalm 19:14

Mr Crim knew more about Firefighter apparatus than any one in Texas.

One word would describe him .
A “GENTLEMAN”.
Rest In Peace ....,

Mr David was one of the first people we met when we moved our mom into Prestige Estates. He is one of the sweetest, kindest people I have ever met. He was so loving and caring toward Mom and all our family. He was a joy to be around, and was always giving encouragement. We will certainly miss him. Thank you for sharing him with us. I only wish we had had more time together. We are praying for you all.

God bless you!
