Edith Genice Caldwell

Edith Genice Eastes Caldwell, age 94, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, family, and dedication. Born on January 14, 1931, in Dallas, Texas, Edith was the beloved only child of Charles Johnston Eastes and Elsie Myrtle Bland Eastes.

On October 26, 1948, Edith married Jesse Dwaine Caldwell, beginning a remarkable journey together that spanned 71 wonderful years. Known for her nurturing spirit, Edith found immense joy in staying home to raise her three sons, creating a warm and loving household.

Edith attended Amarillo High School and chose the fulfilling path of being a stay-at-home mother and devoted wife. Her passion for helping others extended beyond her family; she also served as a volunteer at the local hospital, touching many lives with her kindness and compassion.

She leaves behind her son Rodney Lynn Caldwell and his wife Linda, as well as her daughters-in-law, Ruth Caldwell and Ellen Roberts. Edith's cherished group of grandchildren includes Scott Caldwell, Brandon Caldwell, Nicole Chestnut (Chris), Meaghan Vaughn (Zach), Stacy Richardson (Brad), Laura Fore (Shane), Melissa Timmons (Micah), Charlotte Cordes (Stephen), Kaley Broome (Joe), Brooke Shelor (Jason), Jackie Tiehen (Mitch), and Jeff Roberts. Edith was also blessed with 21 great-grandchildren who will continue to honor her memory.

Edith is now reunited in peace with her parents, Charles and Elsie Eastes; her devoted husband, Jesse Dwaine Caldwell; her sons, Kenneth Albert Caldwell and Charles Dwaine Caldwell; and her grandson, Cuyler Eastes Caldwell.

Edith's life was a testament to the power of love and dedication to family, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she touched and the family she cherished.

A visitation for Edith will be held Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Lloyd James Funeral Home, 1011 E 1st St, Tyler, Texas 75701, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Cathedral in the Pines Memorial Garden.
