

Graveside services for Elizabeth Ann Rogers Osborne, 73, Tyler, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Henderson, with the Rev. Alfred W. Darst officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Lloyd-James Funeral Home, Tyler.
Mrs. Osborne, a 20-year breast cancer survivor, died March 23, 2010, in Tyler. She was born September 7, 1936, in Henderson to the late Emory Lloyd Rogers and Ara Barber Rogers. After graduating from Redwater High School, she moved to Shreveport to begin a 30-year career as a bookkeeper. Life as a military wife soon took the East Texas girl on new adventures to New York, Mississippi and Colorado before settling in Houston. Known to be “most determined,” Mrs. Osborne enjoyed success as a jewelry salesperson and business owner, opening a gift shop in Humble and a bridal boutique in Weatherford. She was first and most proudly “Mom,” bringing her considerable common sense, creativity and style to her children’s lives and activities, including high school musicals, Rainbow for Girls, the Order of DeMolay for Boys, Cub Scouts, PTA and the drug prevention program, D.A.R.E. She retired to Tyler with her husband in 2004.
She was preceded in death by “adopted parents,” Millard and Naomi Landes; and granddaughter Chloe Elisabeth Lindsey.
Mrs. Osborne is survived by her husband of 44 years, Mark C. Osborne, Jr., USAF (Ret); three sons, Don S. Findley of Plantersville; Mark C. Osborne, III of Houston; and Thomas L. Osborne and his wife, Tammy Osborne, of Fort Worth; a daughter, Lisa K. Duley, and son-in-law, Clyde Duley, of Gladewater; a brother, Emory Morgan Rogers of Omaha, TX; grandchildren Martin, Michael, Katie, Kera, Jeremy, Georgia, Dustin, Amanda and Madeline Ara; six great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, Tyler Affiliate, P.O. Box 6217, Tyler, 75711.
