Elouise was born in Tyler, Texas on February 28, 1932. She was a life-long resident of Tyler until recently moving to The Woodlands, Texas to live with her daughter due to her health issues. She graduated from John Tyler High School in 1949. Shortly after graduating from high school, she married Robert V. 'Bob' Scudder on October 15, 1949. They were married for 39 years until his death in April of 1989.

She was a loving mother, Nanny and wife. She loved the Lord and was a sweet and beloved friend to many. During her years of high school she worked at the Tyler Movie Theater in downtown Tyler. After marrying, she was a full time mother and home-maker. She spent her time loving her children and taking care of her family.

After her children were older, she worked as a receptionist at the Briggs Hair Salon in Tyler and as a telephone operator at the Tyler Answering Service. She loved the Texas A&M Aggies, where her son was a graduate, the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys. She loved to fish with her dad as a little girl on Lake Tyler and continued the love for fishing throughout her life. She also enjoyed country western dancing, travelling and visiting her son and his family in California. She was blessed to have traveled in the summer of 1989 with her son's family on a 3 month family tour with the goal of attending as many baseball games and visits to baseball stadiums as possible. She cherished that adventure with them.

She was a member of Southern Oaks Baptist Church in Tyler for many years until moving her membership to Green Acres Baptist Church and she was a faithful and active member of The Friendship Sunday School Class at Green Acres.

Elouise (Nanny) is survived by her two children, son, Robert Dean Scudder and his wife, Missy, of Woodleaf Young Life Camp, California in the Sierra Mountains and Sharon (Scudder) Swaim and her husband Mike Swaim of The Woodlands, Texas. Five (5) grandchildren Kristi (Scudder) Gill, San Jose, California, Todd Scudder, Granite Bay, California, and Katie (Scudder) Bruce, Campbell, California; Matthew Swaim and Joshua Swaim of The Woodlands, Texas. One living sister, Carol McCrary of Tyler; 4 great grandchildren Kellen Gill, Jax Gill and Sammy Scudder of California and Brady Swaim of Texas. As well as many nieces and nephews who loved her very much.

Elouise is preceded in death by her husband, Robert V. "Bob" Scudder and her parents, Lee Harris and Bessie Tucker; as well as a brother, Jack Tucker, and a sister Kay (Rusty) Burson. The family wishes to thank Dr. Thomas M. Buzbee, Tyler Internal Medicine, for his many years of care and Compassionate Care Hospice, Conroe, Texas for their palliative care and love showed by their compassionate team of "angels" that took care of her every day until her passing and Pathfinders Home Health Care of The Woodlands, Texas. All of these organizations made it possible to keep Elouise at her daughter's home until her passing.
