Eula “Lucille” Staples was born on September 22, 1942 in Tyler, Texas and passed away on September 15, 2019 at Trinity Mother Francis Hospital in Tyler, Texas. She was one of six children born to Fred and Willie “Leona” Maxfield. Lucille attended Marsh Elementary, Roberts Junior High and John Tyler High schools. She married Albert William Staples on August 7, 1959 and lovingly raised six children.
Lucile is survived by 5 children, 7 grandchildren, 2 brothers, 1 sister-in-law, and numerous nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert and one daughter, Becky.
Lucille was a born again Christian and attended East Tyler Baptist Church until failing health made her unable to attend services. She maintained a close relationship with God and watched local church services and other Christian broadcasting programs on television.
Lucille was devoted wife, mother and homemaker who enjoyed writing poetry. She always put others before herself and never had a negative thing to say about anyone. She was intelligent, kind hearted, loving, and gentle in spirit. She had been in very poor health for a number of years but always kept a positive and upbeat attitude. She will be missed. Graveside services for Lucille are scheduled for 10 a.m. September 18, 2019 at Tyler Memorial Cemetery in Tyler, Texas.
