Services for Evelyn Faye Adee, 89, of Tyler, TX, are scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Saturday, March 10, 2011 at Lloyd James Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sherman Mayfield and Rev. Rick Adee officiating. Burial will be in Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.
Mrs. Adee went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 5, 2012 in Tyler.
Evelyn was born on September 24, 1922 in Elk City, Oklahoma to the late John H. and Lena Mae Crane Lester. After devoting the major part of her young adult life as a loving wife and mother, she returned to college and obtained an associate degree. She then went to work as an accountant for John Hopkins University in Maryland. After her retirement, she and her husband, John W. Adee moved to Tyler, to be near family, where they have lived since 1988. She and John were blessed to have 72 years of marriage together. Evelyn not only had a great love for people, but also a special love for animals. Her home was a second home to all the neighborhood pets, as well as her own. Her spiritual relationship with Christ was an important part of her being. She attended BSF for several years and was a member of Lake Tyler Baptist Church for over 20 years.
She is survived by her husband John W. Adee Sr., Tyler, son John W. Adee, Jr. and wife Sue, daughter Vonda Mecham and husband Gary of Tyler, Grandchildren; Greg Beasley and wife Tammy, Rick Adee and wife Andrea, Sonya Croci and husband Vic, Shelly Bledsoe, Gary Jay Mecham Jr. and John Mecham and wife Gail,
Great Grand Children; Sonja Mellynchuk, Chris Adee, Jonathan Adee and wife Whitney, Mercedes Mecham, Vince Croci and wife Kelly, and Alicia Croci, Colton Bledsoe, Cason Bledsoe, Morgan Mecham, Olivia Mecham, Evelyn Mecham and Liam Mecham,
Great-great Grandchildren; Kyle Adee and Easton Adee and niece LaVerne Smith.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday at Lloyd James Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are John Mecham, Gary Jay Mecham Jr., Greg Beasley, Chris Adee, Jonathan Adee and Vic Croci. Honorary pallbear is Jerry Mullins.
