Felix Ray Wylie, age 73, of Bokchito, Oklahoma, passed away in the early afternoon hours of Monday, July 22, 2013 at his home. He was born on June 26, 1940 in Frederick, Oklahoma to Thomas Spencer and Bernice Baugh Wylie; they preceded him in death. Felix married Ruby Jeanette Hoeldtke on December 17, 1970 in Durant and together they spent the next 42 years raising a family and living a lifetime of memories. Felix was a self-made man who worked his life as cattleman and rancher. He enjoyed caring for his cattle and working his land to support his family. Those who knew Felix knew his first love was always his family. His happiest times were spent watching his children and grandchildren laugh and play at family gatherings. Holidays at the Wylie’s has been a long standing tradition in which his entire family made their way back around his table to share in the spirit of the season and spend time with each other. He never met a stranger and went out of his way to make everyone around him feel welcome and part of his family. Felix was large in stature but even bigger in heart. He was the patriarch of his family and the heart of three generations that will forever cherish the memories of his gentle demeanor, his caring hugs, and his timely advice.
Felix is survived by his loving and dedicated wife, Ruby J. Wylie; children Dianna and Perry Kunkel of Olney, Texas, Debbie Collins of Wichita Falls, Texas, Bud and Teresa Wylie of Schertz, Texas, Tammie and Mike Little of Brashear, Texas, Diana and Mike Kinsey of Allen, Texas, and Susan and Lenny Walsh of Mustang, Oklahoma; 19 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; brothers, David Wylie, Charles Wylie, Terry Wylie; sisters, Linda Mae Lonsway, Willa Jean Poe, Barbara Long; and by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and many special friends.
