Funeral services for Francis E. Bullard, 87, of Tyler, will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015, at Shiloh Road Church of Christ under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home with Mike Warner and Ron Shultz officiating. Interment will follow in Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery.
Francis was born on September 14, 1927, in Defeated Creek, Tennessee to Marshall H. and Annie Ethel Taylor Bullard. He was a faithful servant of Christ. He loved his Lord and his family. He served in the U. S. Army during WW II. He worked for East Texas Seed Company beginning in 1969 for over 30 years before retiring. He loved to laugh, make others laugh and sing.
He passed away peacefully at home on Sunday morning, September 13, 2015, surrounded by his loving daughter and wife.
He is survived by his second wife, Mary Ann Bullard of 15 years; his only child, Jan Bullard Richardson and her husband, Mike Richardson, of Tyler; stepson, Mike Byrum and his wife Margaret, of Suffolk, Virginia; sisters, Helen Bullard Daniel and Gladys Bullard Swan, both of Gallatin, Tennessee; sister-in-law, Lois Bullard, of Gallatin, Tennessee; grandson, James Richardson and his wife Lindsay, of Wolfe City; great-grandchildren, Hannah and Jay Richardson, of Wolfe City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents; his first wife, Nadean T. Bullard of over 42 years; brothers, Jerry Loftin Bullard, Ray Bullard, Edgar H. Bullard, Harry Bullard, all of Tennessee; brother, Cecil Bullard of Virginia; sisters, Mildred Bullard Flynn and Ruby Bullard Kaplan, of Tennessee.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at Lloyd James Funeral Home.
A special thank you to Donna and Patsy from Home Aid Caregivers for their genuine love, support and comfort of Mr. B and his daughter during his last days at home. Thank you to the Hospice of East Texas and the nurses, Katharine, Nathan and Debra as well as Aide, Lesa for providing support both emotional and medical to Mr. Bullard and his daughter at any time day or night.
