Gary graduated from Winona High School and attended Tyler Junior College. He joined the Army and served in Vietnam from 1966 – 1968. After he was discharged, he attended East Texas State University where he received his Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA). He began his career with Senco Products where he retired as Sales Manager with over 40 Years of service.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sharon Cromer Wyman; Daughters, Sherry Kikuchi (Mitsuhiro) Japan; Angie Heard (Mike) Round Rock; Stepchildren, Amy Poteet (Brett) Georgetown; Brian Persinger (Wendy) Tyler; Kevin Walker (Kelly) Tyler & Chris Walker (Amy) Tyler. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Sharon Walters Wyman of Tyler, and his brother, Robert Wyman (Ginny) of Emory. He leaves one nephew, Christopher Wyman, and three nieces: Jacki and Staci Wyman, and Robin Wyman Nichols.
He was a proud PaPaw to Miyuki and Taiji Kikuchi; Caroline Heard; Catie and Ellie Poteet; Braydon and Jaycee Persinger; Peyton, Natalee, and Jackson Walker.
Gary was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Clark Wyman; parents, John and Lois Wyman; brother, Bill Wyman, and his niece, Wyndi Flanigan.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Lloyd James Funeral Home. Services will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Lloyd James Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robert Wyman and Roy Pope officiating. Long-time friend Ronnie Anderson will bring special music. Burial will be in Harris Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John Coats, Peyton Walker, Braydon Persinger, Leon Williamson, Chris Walker, Johnny Hicks. Honorary Pallbearers are Ronnie Anderson and Bob Gheen.
Much appreciation and gratitude to the doctors and nurses and his Hospice caregivers for their care and thoughtfulness during Gary’s illness.
