Surviving family members are her husband, Bill Hardin; brother, Phil Parman (Melody); and sister Susan Parman Atkins (Mark). Glenda lived in Avoca, IA, Omaha, NE and Elkhorn, NE before settling in Tyler, Texas.

She then worked in Omaha briefly before moving to Plano, Texas. After her marriage to Bill Hardin, the couple moved to Tyler, Texas and had 3 children. In Tyler, Glenda worked as an attendance clerk at Robert E. Lee High School for over a decade. She enjoyed volunteering with the Symphony Guild and Junior League. The annual Tyler Rose Festival was a highlight, and she attended the festivities almost every year.
Glenda was friendly to all, those who met her for the first time and long-time friends. She was known for her sweet disposition. Multiple friends have commented that she was the most genuinely kind person that they had ever met. She was someone who liked to have fun, and she always carried a smile. Glenda enjoyed many hobbies, including sewing, knitting, smocking and baking. Of those hobbies, she loved baking with her grandchildren and knitting hats and hand towels for them. Glenda truly was a giver. Her Christian faith was important to her and she liked to share it with anyone who was interested. She loved her church and was a devoted member of the choir.
Glenda was a regular fixture at any gym she frequented, enjoying the cardio room and aqua aerobics classes. She liked to take walks in her neighborhood. Family was of the utmost importance to her, and family get-togethers were a special occasion, whether in Tyler, DFW, Missouri or Nebraska. She didn’t like to show up empty-handed, so she typically baked a cake or cookies to share, which were delicious. Most of all, she loved Jesus and lived her life as a devoted Christian.
