

Services for Glenda Elizabeth Taylor, 87, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 17, 2011 in the chapel of Marvin United Methodist Church with Rev. Allison Thompson officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m., until service time in the parlor. Burial will be at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.
Glenda was born April 10, 1924 in Louisburg, Missouri to the late Donald B. Arnold and Emma Hammerbacker Arnold.
She graduated from Louisburg High School and attended Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. She married Lewis Donald Taylor October 7, 1944, in Kansas City, MO, where she raised her children.
She was a homemaker until her children were all in school and then she worked as a secretary for Electricians Training School in Kansas City, MO.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a master seamstress who sewed all of her children’s clothing and was a master gardener. She devoted her life to caring for home and family.
She was active in 4-H, Hickman Mills Community Christian Church in Kansas City, MO through most of her life.
Glenda retired to Springfield, MO in 1984 and was an active member of Brentwood Christian Church until she moved to Tyler, Tx and joined Woodland Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Lewis Donald Taylor, and brother, Claude Arnold.
She is survived by daughters, Connie Eberhart of Omaha NE, Janice Navran of Overland Park, KS, Teresa Carney of Tyler; brother, Kenneth Arnold of Kansas City, MO; sisters, Colleen Cargill of Boliver, MO, Helen Hyde of Louisburg, MO; grandchildren, Jennifer Baker, Melissa Gerard, Justin Carney, Shawn Carney, Joshua Carney, Alisa Carney, Alexander Navran, Anna Navran, and Abigail Navran and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Robert Carney, Justin Carney, Shawn Carney, Joshua Carney, Fredrick Navran, Alexander Navran and Phillip Eberhart.
Special thanks go to the physicians and staff at Trinity Mother Francis Hospital and to the caring staff at Hospice of East Texas. Also, thanks to her special friend and care-giver, Cindy Couch.
