

Services for Herbert E. Chapman, 92, of Tyler are scheduled for 1:30 P.M., Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Lloyd James Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Darryle Dunks officiating. Burial is at Cathedral in the Pines under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.
Mr. Chapman passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2010 in Tyler.
He was born on July 26, 1918 in Commerce to the late Tom J. and Effie Stephens Chapman. He served in the U. S. Marine corps from October 12, 1940 through December 18, 1945 during WW II in the South Pacific as a platoon Sgt. He was later employed as a printer and was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Parkhill and brothers, Joe and Bill Chapman.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Theda Faye Chapman of Tyler; daughter Glenda Kline and husband Steve of Tyler; grandson, Aaron Carter and wife, Sarah of Hutto; granddaughter, Summer Duffy of Tyler; great grandchildren, Houston Duffy and Kyle Duffy of Tyler, Hannah, Aidan and Sydney Carter of Hutto; sisters, Helen Burnett and Jeannie Bullard both of Garland; brother, T. J. Chapman of Tyler and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 P.M., Monday at the funeral home.
