Mr. Grissom passed away on July 23, 2015, peacefully at his home after a lengthy illness at the age of 70 years. After serving several years in law enforcement, Wayne earned a B.A. in accounting at The University of Texas at Tyler. He completed all requirements and was licensed as a CPA, worked at several federal agencies, as well as Mother Frances Hospital as director of accounting.
He is survived by wife, Melva Grissom; son and daughter-in-law Darin and Janice Grissom; daughter, Karen Grissom Divila; and five grandchildren, Britton Grissom, Livia Divila, Nora Divila, Karleigh Knepple and Katelyn Knepple. He is also survived by a sister, Wanda Gibson, of Kilgore, and sister-in-law, Betty Jo Grissom, of Odessa, and their children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Abner Grissom and Lena Belle Grissom, and his brothers, Donald Glen Grissom and John William Grissom.
At the request of Mr. Grissom, there will be no funeral nor burial services. The family will be receiving friends and family at Lloyd James Funeral Home, on Saturday, July 25, 2015, from 3 to 5 p.m.
Mrs. Grissom and family are exceedingly grateful to The Hospice of East Texas in Tyler for their care.
