
Mr. Shira passed away on Friday, September 25, 2015 in Tyler, Texas.
He was born on August 9, 1939 in the Pine Springs Community of Smith County to the late James Jay and Annie Mae Pinkerton Shira. He loved playing golf and fishing. He worked at Hood Packaging for 49 years . He was a loving and kind and known as a true Southern Gentleman.
He is survived by wife, Lynda Gromatzky Shira of Whitehouse; daughters, Kelli Storie, Plantersville and Karla Storie, Rogers, Arkansas; sisters, Barbara Barrow, Chapel Hill and Peggy Nix, Whitehouse; grandchildren: Dennis Fowler, James Whitehurst, Scott Whitehurst, Trish Storie, Jamaica Storie, Katie Casey and Robin Storie; great-grandchildren: Alora Casey, Justin Casey, Emma Storie and Jeff Storie; step-son, Jeff Kaminski ; step grand-daughters: Katrina and Abby Kaminski.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Mary Day and grandson, Stuart Wells.
Pallbearers will be: Clayton Pinkerton, Bobby Pinkerton, Melvin Gromatzky, Jeff Kaminski, Scott Whitehurst, James Whitehurst, Jack Netterville, C. L Nix, Cary Nix, and Bobby Barrow.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 28, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 pm at the funeral home.
