Jeanette was born January 21, 1937, in Buchanan, MI to Harry Stutzman Hollenbaugh and Goldie Sylvia Alwine. She was raised in Goshen, IN and graduated from Goshen High School, Class of 1955. She attended Austin College studying music until she met the love of her life, Richard P. Jarrell. They were married on February 22, 1959 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Dallas. They raised one son, Clay and daughter Andrea.
She was a devoted wife and mother. Always taking care of the home and family with grace. She had a marriage of love to her husband Richard for 61 years when he passed on April 1, 2020. They loved their family and enjoyed the many trips to Sherman and Alabama to visit the rest of the family. They could spend hours listening and playing music, particularly 50’s music. You could find them dancing the jitterbug on the back porch or hear Jeanette playing the piano. In their younger years they loved to shop for antiques and enjoyed going to estate sales. She was a real-life Lucille Ball, always getting into mischief with her friends or grandchildren. Anyone who went to visit would find lots of fun, laughter and hugs from their Bitsy.
Jeanette had a beautiful voice. She was classically trained from a young age. At the age of 9 years old she was asked to join the adult choir of her church. She continued to sing at church and in musicals or at home all of her life. Marvin Methodist Church was her favorite place to sing. She sang in the choir at Marvin 40+ years as a member of the choir, soloist and accompanist for others and Sunday school classes. Not only could she sing but she could act. Musicals were a favorite of hers. As a high school student, she performed in Pirates of the Penzance at Texas A&M while visiting her brother. She performed in local civic theatres, starring in Little Mary Sunshine, and several others. All orchestras, ballets and other culture performances were a required attendance by the whole family whether she performed or not.
Jeanette is survived by her son, Clayton Jarrell and wife, Kelly; daughter Andrea Nipp, and husband Mike; and four grand-children, Lauren Moorse, husband, Cody; Chad Jarrell, wife, Lindsay; Clayton Drew McClendon, Whitney McClendon and seven great-grand-children Clayton Moorse, Bennett Moorse, Camden Jarrell, Cole Jarrell, Hayden Huckabee, Luna Weezner, and Leo Weezner and several cousins.
