Jerry Wayne Cothran, age 80, peacefully passed away on Friday, June 19, 2020 to his eternal home with Jesus Christ.
Jerry was born on Saturday, September 9, 1939 in Paris, Texas to Edwin and Elma Cothran.
Jerry was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He relocated to Dallas to begin his lifetime career with JCPenney. In his 40 years with JCP, Jerry rose through management and corporate offices, where he ranked in 8 different stores and 4 states, Tennessee, Louisiana, New York and Texas. His last store was in Tyler, Texas where he chose to retire. Jerry enjoyed working in the yard, spending time with his family, and his loving wife of almost 60 years. He sought our perfection in every undertaking at work and home. He was a 32nd degree Mason. He was also a member of the Marvin United Methodist Church in Tyler.
As Jerry entered the golden gates of heaven, he’s preceded in death by his parents: Edwin and Wilma Cothran; Sister Betty Schurlett; and Brother Edwin (Sonny) Cothran.
Survivors: Left to cherish his memory, his Loving wife, Linda Cothran; Children Scott (Claire) Cothran, and Kimberley (Greg) Schlageter; his loving grandchildren Zackary Cothran, Taylor Green, Ashlee Green, Andy Callaway, and Ali Callaway; and six beautiful great-grandchildren Taelyn Green, Weston D. Cothran, Weston M. Cothran, Maxton M. Green, Blake Cothran, and Saylor Cothran.
A memorial service will be held at a later date this month.
