

Johnnie M. Jackson, age 75, of Tyler, passed away in the mid-morning hours of Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Hospice Home Place in Tyler, surrounded by her loving family, after a sudden illness. She was born December 20, 1936 in Rosenburg, Texas to Johnny and Roxie (Schoenert) Jacobe, they preceded her in death. After high school, Johnnie met and married the love of her life, Don T. Jackson, and together they spent the next nearly 50 years raising a family and living a lifetime of memories. He preceded her in death in 1999. Johnnie worked in employment placement for many years before becoming a homemaker. In her free time, Johnnie would most often be found reading books, painting, quilting, making dolls, and listening to music but those who knew her best know her favorite memories the times spent with her beloved family. Johnnie was a loving wife, mother, great-grandmother, and friend who leaves behind a legacy that will live on in the hearts of those she knew and loved.
Ms. Jackson is survived by children, David Jackson, and wife Jamie, of Chapel Hill, Dennis Jackson, and wife Bell, of Tyler, Danny Jackson, and wife Kellye, of Tyler, and Debbie Brethower, and husband Mick, of Georgetown; brothers, LeRoy Jacobe, and wife Margie, and Kenneth Jacobe, and wife Ouida, all of Chapel Hill; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and by a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Services for Ms. Jackson will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Lloyd James Funeral Home with Rev. James Dill officiating. Burial will follow at Tyler Memorial Park with Lee Cobb, Jimmy Jacobe, Bryan Jacobe, Ranferi Jaimes, Pat Wheeler, and John Yancy serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M., Friday evening, at the funeral home.
