

Services for Johnny Ray Vargas Sr., 57, of Tyler are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Lloyd James Funeral Home chapel with the Very Reverend Anthony McLaughlin JCD officiating. Burial is in Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery following the service under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.
Mr. Vargas passed away on Friday, October 12, 2012 at a local hospital.
He was born on October 6, 1955 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Genero Vargas Sr. and Jovita Flores. He was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. He enjoyed having a booth for the last 10 years at East Texas Fair called La Casita Taqueria.
In addition to his parents Mr. Vargas was preceded in death by his brother, Joe S. Vargas; step-father, Jose Flores Sr.; nieces, Cynthia Franco, and Yvonne Munoz sisters, Janie Sanchez and Elisa Olivo and granddaughter, Jocelyn M. Vargas.
He is survived by his wife, Margarita Vargas; sons and daughters-in-law, Rudy and Glenda Rodriguez, Ben Rodriguez, Jerry and Mandy Rodriguez, Johnny Jr. and Kristina Vargas, Michael and Tanya Vargas; daughters, Veronica Vargas and Amy Vargas; sisters, Sally Meyer, Yvonne Cassanova and Carmelina Flores and their husbands; brothers Eugene Vargas, Genero Vargas Jr., George Cuellar and Jose Flores Jr. and their wives. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Rudy Rodriguez, Ben Rodriguez, Jerry Rodriguez, Johnny Vargas Jr., Michael Vargas, Walter Watkins, Rudy Rodriguez Jr. and Jesse Rodriguez. Honorary pallbearers are George Cuellar, Joe Flores Jr., Christopher Farnham, Matthew Farnham, Michael Farnham and Chad Farnham.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday and a rosary will be at 6:30 p.m.
