Joyce Richardson Stewart

Graveside services for Joyce Richardson Stewart, 80, of Tyler are scheduled for 2:00 pm., Thursday, November 1, 2012 in Oaklawn Cemetery in Athens with Rev. Mark Price officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.

Mrs. Stewart passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2012 surrounded by friends and family.

She was born on December 20, 1931 in Athens to the late Dee and Bessie Ann Darden Richardson. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and was employed in retail sales.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Melton Stewart; son, Brian David Stewart; granddaughter, Stephanie Ann Settle and brothers, Dee Richardson Jr., Nolan Richardson and Wayne Richardson.

She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Lynn Peters and husband, Mel of Whitehouse and Patricia (Pat) Diane Settle and husband, Danny of Flint; sister, Virginia Ann Brown and husband, Phil of Lampasas; grandchildren, Timothy Ryan Peters and wife, Meagan and Rachael Diane Peters all of The Woodlands and Stephen Stewart Settle of Tyler; great-grandchildren, Cody Ryan Peters, Carly Marie Peters and Campbell Lynn Peters all of The Woodlands.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her memory to Wounded Warriors, Toys for Tots or Compassionate Friends.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Lloyd James Funeral Home.
