A celebration of Katrena's life will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Lloyd James Funeral Home in Tyler. Katrena went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 23, 2018 at the young age of 90. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
She was born in Poynor, Texas, on April 26, 1927 to Thomas Franklin Hanna and Cora Lerena Dickerson.
She was an active member of Glenwood Church of Christ for more than 50 years, until her failing health prevented her from attending. She was a true servant of the Lord, visiting the sick and quick to bake a cake for someone just because. She retired from Fair Oil Company in 1992. During her retirement Katrena volunteered at her church for the World Bible School Ministry, also Tyler Community Concert, Meals on Wheels and The Benevolence Center.
Katrena dearly loved her family and enjoyed preparing meals, and celebrating holidays and birthdays with them. She was a true friend to everyone, always happy and optimistic, and a joy to all those that knew her.
Katrena was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William F. (Bill) Reid, brothers, Benny Hanna and Reagan Hanna, and sisters, Fayrene Dickerson and Ruby Bizzell.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Reid Lackey and husband Sam; granddaughter Lindsey Lusk Cope and husband Rick; grandson Samuel Spencer Lackey and wife Aly; great-children, Emma and Cannon Cope; her sister, Betty Hanna Parigi; sister-in-law Ruby Lee Hanna; and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She will be greatly missed by all those who loved her.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 from 5:30 - 7:30 P.M. at Lloyd James Funeral Home.
