Leonard Earl Adams

Leonard Earl Adams of Tyler was born January 21,1940 to William Arthur Adams and Jimmie Lee Gadberry Adams and passed from this earth on January 26, 2024, at the age of 84. He attended Wilmer-Hutchins High School. Joining the Navy with friends while in high school he left for boot camp immediately after graduation. After Returning to NAS Dallas to serve he enrolled in UT Arlington and attended college at night.

Upon discharge from the Navy, Leonard went to work for Texaco Oil Company and remained there until Texaco went through a reorganization. Because of the reorganization they offered him an independent contract which provided the opportunity to create his own company

Leonard enjoyed water sports and golf but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Nothing brought a smile to his face like being told Karleigh, Olivia and Jane were on their way for a visit.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Leonard Duane Adams, Shelby Roos, great grand-daughter Greenlee Buckley, brothers David and Gary.

Leonard is survived by his wife of 55 years, L. Sue Adams; daughters, Dawn Adams and husband, Jason, DeAnn Adams-Owen and husband, Kendall; grandsons, Jason Osborn and wife, Lindsay and their daughters, Karleigh, Olivia and Jane; David Maxwell, Blake Owen his daughter, Kitson and Ryan Owen and his sisters, Linda Dunsmore, Martha Williams and Brenda Madison. He was loved and will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.

A time of gathering and visitation will begin on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Lloyd James Funeral Home with a brief Memorial service beginning at 2:30
