

She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on September 13, 1945, to Dorothy (Kuester) and Grover Nathan Conley, Jr., and was given the name Linda Dorothy Conley.
Her mother died shortly after giving birth, and her father placed her in the care of her maternal grandparents, Arnold W. and Lillian (Vogelpohl) Kuester. She lived in their household until in 1949 her father remarried, to Kathleen Jean (“Kay”) Bendle, who also legally adopted her. They made their home in Indianapolis, where Linda grew up, and where her sister Anne and her brother Tom were born.
In 1963 she graduated from North Central High School and was awarded a scholarship to Vassar College. At Vassar, she majored in English, but was also an enthusiastic student of Art History.
She graduated from Vassar in 1967, and on June 17, 1967, she was married to John D. Glenn, Jr. in Arlington, Texas, to which her parents had recently moved. She and John spend the next year in Connecticut while he completed graduate studies.
In 1968, they moved to the New Orleans area, where they lived for the next thirty-six years. Their daughter, Josselyn, was born there in 1969. In 2004, Linda and John moved to Tyler – to which her parents had retired in 1986.
She participated in various civic and cultural activities. She was a prize-winning cook, a talented amateur painter, and an enthusiastic traveler. (Having greatly enjoyed one trip to Wales, she learned Welsh in preparation for a later trip.) Above all, she was a kind, gentle, and loving person, who was also much loved. Her family and friends will miss her greatly.
She is survived by her husband, John, her daughter, Josselyn, her sister Anne Parrish and husband Mike, her brother Tom, and her niece, Lauren January and husband, Trenton, and, children Logan and Aubrey.
Linda was a member of St. Francis Episcopal Church, where her Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 30, 2026 with Father Rob Jerger officiating.
