Lois was many things to many people — a devoted mother, momma, granny, and memamma. She dedicated much of her life to caring for others, including running a daycare she started in the mid-1970s, which she lovingly maintained until her retirement. She also played a vital role in raising and caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family describes her as a true Godsend, and her presence will be deeply missed.
She found joy in working in her flower beds, going to garage sales, and watching her favorite shows, including Gunsmoke and John Wayne movies. Lois had called Tyler home since 1971.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Peel Sr., and her sons, Dennis Peel and Richard Peel Jr.
She is survived by her daughters, Faye DeCanter of Tyler and Debra Fowler and her husband David Fowler of Chapel Hill, along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will cherish her memory.
Pallbearers will be Landon Semrad, David Fowler, Charles DeCanter, Rendall Northcutt, Coleman Northcutt, and Brayden Burleson.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 4th, from 10:00–11:00 a.m. at Lloyd James Funeral Home, with services beginning at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Rev. Lloyd McCaskill. She will be laid to rest at Corinth Cemetery in Van Zandt County.
